As per EastFruit analysts, most Ukrainian apple producers have nearly concluded their sales season. Those retaining adequate apple inventories have increased their wholesale pricing swiftly.
This week, apple wholesale prices in Ukraine surged by approximately 14%, with current rates between 32 to 40 UAH/kg ($0.77–0.97/kg). Market stakeholders attribute this escalation mainly to seasonal influences, as last year's stock dwindles rapidly, while new season apples aren't anticipated for weeks.
The early apple season in Ukraine is delayed due to an extended cold spring. Notably, wholesale apple prices have doubled from the same timeframe last year. Experts predict continued price escalation until the arrival of the new harvest.
