The Dutch mushroom grower Mitrofresh, after reaching the point of finalisation of their two growing facilities in Kosovo, will renew their order-picking location in Maasdijk (NL). "This development marks an important milestone in our growth and success," said the company in a statement.
"We are becoming more sustainable, both indoors and outdoors. By innovating and becoming more sustainable, we can continue to anticipate the rapidly changing market and increase our service to our customers.
We are going to use mainly solar panels to generate our own electricity need. By smart use of residual heat, we'll maximize circularity within the new Mitrofresh premises. Like the heat from the cold stores that's being reused to heat the office.
The extra storage capacity of more than 1,000 pallet spaces spread over eight different temperature zones also offers opportunities to add deep-freezers in the future.
By investing in an automatic order picking system we can double the number of boxes to be picked compared to the current capacity. In addition, the new scanning tunnel system guarantees that every package ends up on the right pallet. New innovations that also allow customers with smaller orders to be optimally served. Because at Mitrofresh, every customer is important!"
Construction will start from the second quarter of 2024 . During the new construction, Mitrofresh's office and warehouse will move to the end of the street; Transportweg 49, 2676 LM Maasdijk.
