Rene Bouman, FMI:

"Lime prices rebounded in mid-October, after a difficult period"

"September was difficult, with a still too-large lime supply for the time of year and thus low prices. After that, prices in Europe rebounded in mid-October," says René Bouman of the Dutch company Fruit Market International (FMI). According to him, that was partly because of the good local market in Brazil, which resulted in fewer exports.

"Harvesting begins anew in early November, and there should be enough limes available. As long as export volumes remain controlled over the coming winter months, the market should stay stable," René concludes.
