California's peach crop to exceed last year’s production

Californian producers of peaches will harvest a larger crop than last year, according to a report by their industry association.

The USDA forecasts California state's freestone crop that is grown for the fresh market, to be 260,000 tons, an increase from 240,000 tons harvested last year.

The California Canning Peach Association official noted the preseason estimate of 212,000 tons, that would be an increase from the 204,440 tons harvested in 2022.
