Despite what they describe as ‘challenging trading conditions’, Cornwall-based fruit and vegetable wholesaler Riviera Produce has had a successful year. Over many decades Riviera Produce has grown into a prominent supplier of fresh produce and now farms more than 7,500 acres working with local growers and partners across Europe to supply major retailers.
For the year to 30 September 2022, Riviera Produce has reported turnover of £43.6 mln. Gross profit was down slightly from £2.08 mln to £1.94 mln, while pre-tax profits fell from £424,690.
Looking ahead, Riviera Produce said that while inflation and interest rates have been "steadily increasing due, in part, to the conflict in Ukraine and the knock-on effect as we exit the pandemic", it is expected that this will continue but "believe we are well-placed to deal with these events".
