One year in prison for having eight unregistered employees in Alicante

The Third Section of the Provincial Court tried and sentenced an employer of a company dedicated to the handling and packaging of citrus fruits in Alicante for not having registered eight employees of its staff to Social Security in October 2019.

The employees were only registered on October 21, 2019, when the defendant recognized that anomaly at the beginning of the hearing, held on May 22, after reaching an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office.

The court found the employer guilty of crimes against workers' rights and sentenced him to one year of prison and a six-euro daily fine for six months.
