Primever opens Dutch branch

On June 1, 2023, Primever Holland opened in Poeldijk, the Netherlands. It has cross-docking facilities for fruit and vegetable transport to France and its distribution from there to the Netherlands. "Proud. That one word summarizes it," says Henk van Berkel.

"It's also the start of something wonderful. The Netherlands is an important country in the Primever Group's vision. It wants to stay a fruit and vegetable groupage transport market leader in France."

"It also wants to gain a position in the international market. This Dutch branch links Northern and Central Europe," Henk explains. "Importing Dutch produce to France and the volume of overseas fruit imports from the ports of Rotterdam and Vlissingen means Primever has a connection to French fruit and vegetable export flows. That's why Primever set up this subsidiary in the Netherlands."

The Primever has, under the Satar family's leadership, grown into the largest groupage carrier in France. This year it was voted that country's best transport company. That has everything to do with its huge network of 60 branches, with a capacity of 1,200 trucks. Almost all those branches are located in production areas, allowing regional distribution and collection across the large country.

"Primever chose to start small in the Netherlands. We want to grow in the coming years to meet demand and the group's vision. The Satar group's Remy Garnier and Willem Zonnevijlle of Mooy Logistics conceived that vision many years ago. The Satar family son Julien Garnier and GĂ©rard Maleur are now realizing that vision. I'm proud to work on that," Henk concludes.

Primever Holland does groupage transport of fruit and vegetables from the Netherlands to destinations throughout France. From Poeldijk, the shipments are distributed via the group's branches to their final destination. As no connections are needed in France, customers are unburdened. In the Netherlands, they can communicate with Primever Holland which has direct connections, via Primever's branches in France to deliver or loading drivers.
