Although it was set up only a few months ago, Leonetti Food already has clear objectives in mind, i.e. penetrating the wholesale markets and supplying big distribution chains in Italy and Europe. FreshPlaza has talked about it with Fabiana Leonetti (in the photo below), owner of the company from Puglia that packages nuts grown with integrated production methods.
"We are looking for intermediaries and buyers with whom we can establish commercial relationships both in Italy and Europe. We want to expand in other channels after experimenting with e-commerce and achieving extraordinary weekly results. We sell various formats of dried fruits including almonds, pistachios, peanuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, Macadamia nuts and Brazil nuts. Our products come from Italian and foreign companies and are of the utmost quality. They are then sorted and processed in our Cerignola (Foggia) facility."
Leonetti Food is a female-run start-up. "I have worked many jobs, but the idea of starting something myself has always accompanied me. I thought about dried fruit because it is not as perishable as the fresh produce and it is logistically simpler. The popularity of the dried fruit market is increasing, also considering the fact that more consumers are leading a healthy lifestyle. I hope I can land on markets that have been unreachable so far."
