Entre Rios' citrus, blueberry, and pecan sector will participate in Fruit Attraction

Governor Gustavo Bordet met in Spain with the Argentine ambassador, Ricardo Alfonsin, and with the organizing entity of Fruit Attraction 2023, so that the companies from Entre Rios' citrus, blueberry, and pecan sectors can participate in one of the world's most important food fairs.

"We worked together with Ambassador Alfonsin and the team of the embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish the institutional ties that allow the province to participate for the first time in the Fruit Attraction fair. This is one of the fruit and vegetable markets' most important fairs in the world, and participating in it will allow the producers of Entre Rios to meet with customers from different parts of the world. It will also be an opportunity to expand their customer portfolio, destination countries, learn about the current fruit market trends and new technologies to increase competitiveness,” the president stated.

The companies from Entre Rios will receive financing from the IDB to participate in the fair in October which will allow them to open new markets and increase their exports.

The Governor held a working day at the Argentine Embassy in Spain. He met with Ambassador Ricardo Alfonsin and Maria Jose Sanchez, the president of the Madrid Fair Committee. He also met with other representatives of Ifema Madrid, the entity organizing Fruit Attraction that brings together the Community of Madrid, the City Council, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Montemadrid Foundation. This organization is the first operator in Spain and one of the most important in Europe within the fair industry's international circuit.

In this context, Bordet reiterated that “the interest in this fair, in particular, arose from the producers from Entre Rios themselves. Together, we analyzed what was the best way to approach international trade policy so that our companies can make the most of these instances, to achieve greater business opportunities, increase production, and create more jobs for the people of Entre Rios.”

“We are very satisfied with these meetings because the participation of Entre Rios has aroused great interest. The citrus, blueberry, and pecan that we produce in the province enjoy great recognition in these circuits. That's why we want to continue spreading and, above all, exporting more and more of the excellent products produced in our province,” concluded Bordet.

Fruit Attraction 2023 will take place from October 3 to 5 in Madrid, Spain. Eight companies producing citrus, cranberry, and pecan will participate in it. The trip will be financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through the Salto Grande Region Development Program.
