French kiwi berries allowed to enter China for first time

According to the relevant laws and regulations of China and the provisions of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of the French Republic on the quarantine requirements for French fresh Actinidia arguta exported to China, it is allowed to import French fresh Actinidia arguta that meets the following relevant requirements from now on.

Fresh Actinidia arguta (hereinafter referred to as Actinidia arguta) is called Kiwi Berry in English.

Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) should be implemented in Actinidia arguta orchards which export to China, including monitoring and investigating quarantine pests, and taking any necessary chemical, agricultural or biological control measures. The monitoring, investigation and control of pests in orchards exported to China should be completed under the guidance of technicians, who must be trained by the French side or its authorized institutions.

Comprehensive management measures for pests must be approved by the French side. The French side should check the implementation of pest monitoring in registered orchards and IPM implementation when specific pests are detected. The prevention and control records shall include detailed information such as the names, effective components, date of use and concentration of all chemicals used in the growing season, and shall be provided to the Chinese side upon request.

Each packing box must be marked with the fruit type, exporting country, origin (region), orchard name or registration number, and packaging factory name or registration number in English. Each packing box should be marked "Exported to the People's Republic of China" in English.

In the first two years of trade, the French side should carry out pre-departure inspection and quarantine on Actinidia arguta exported to China at a sampling rate of 2% per batch. If no quarantine problems are found within two years, the sampling ratio can be reduced to 1% thereafter.

If the living quarantine pests of concern to China are found, the whole batch of goods shall not be exported to China, and measures shall be taken to suspend orchards and packaging plants as appropriate until the French side or its authorized personnel find out the reasons and take improvement measures. At the same time, they should keep the seizure records and provide them to the Chinese side upon request.
