This prize was awarded during the International Agricultural Show based on four particularly considered criteria:

1. The commitment to source only French apples
2. The listing of apples certified as 100% eco-responsible orchards
3. The recent re-evaluation of prices paid to apple growers
4. The efficiency of logistics practices.

LIDL is thus rewarded for its commitment to the apple industry.

Daniel Sauvaitre, president of the ANPP, believes that this award is a tribute to a long-term commitment in support of the label Vergers écoresponsables among consumers. The head of Lidl, Michel Biero, said he was very proud to receive this award, which highlights the important work of the company with its suppliers.

At the launch of the apple campaign at the end of August 2022, the company had already indicated that it would not use imported apples and would only offer apples from French regions.

The Association Nationale Pommes Poires will be able to reward other chains for their good practices at the launch of the 2023 apple campaign (end of August) if their commitments to the sector were deemed sufficient."
