The Limoré-branded Limone di Rocca Imperiale IPG campaign starts with some news: the President of the cooperative Pietro Buongiorno in fact reported how, this year, grading and packaging will be carried out just a few meters from the groves.

"Up until last year, we worked with companies in northern Italy to package our produce. We were still rather new on the market and could not afford to cut corners despite the excellent results achieved only a few months after the brand was launched. Now we have become more autonomous: in our facility, we will grade and package the lemons autonomously. We made this choice because we needed to cut logistic costs and provide employment to the locals. At the moment, we have 12 operators working in the groves and another 5 dealing with packaging."

"We will process on average between 70 and 100 quintals a day. Only one type of packaging is envisaged at the moment, i.e. 6-9 kg recyclable cardboard boxes (single and double layer)."
"We expected to start early this year, but the recent weather with humid temperatures above average forced us to delay the start of the campaign. We are aware that there will be many challenges, especially because of the current economic context, the limited budget families have and the increases affecting the entire chain, but we will try to absorb a good part of the costs this time too."

Limoré has been available in Italian and European big retail chains for three years. "We will start supplying our domestic, German, Switzerland and French clients over the next few days. During a recent Board of Directors' meeting, we sampled lemons from our associates to assess what to expect during the next season and program harvesting and sales."
