The jujube harvest has just begun for the Italian Fellini Patrizio farm. The fruit is grown on farms adjacent to the company, meaning that it is not zero kilometers but a few zero meters. As was the case last year, jujubes are offered in glasses and in 250-gram tubs.
The most recent plant into production
"The product looks good and of excellent quality, thanks to a careful agronomic management with drip irrigation throughout the summer. Pruning must also be done carefully, as these are plants that grow quite vigorously," said Patrizio Fellini.

Fellini has nearly 3,000 plants in total. "We harvest and package within a few hours," said Andrea Pignato of the sales office, "so to preserve all its freshness. Not surprisingly, the product is part of our 'Freschissimi' line. The snack packs in glasses and trays have been very popular, which is why we have reconfirmed them."
Several large-scale retail chains have already placed their orders. "At the moment, the supermarkets that have requested jujubes are those in central and northern Italy. Jujube is a product not fully known yet, however, having stabilized production allows us to have constant supplies for two months, until November."

The 2022 production is very abundant and, since it is a rustic plant, it does not require special defense interventions.
“The Jujube is a traditional crop, which we have commercialized and standardized. To obtain high-level results, a 'jujube grove' should be conducted like any other specialized plant, that is, with pruning, defense, fertirrigation and harvesting carried out in several stacks," concluded Patrizio Fellini.
