This year, for the new harvest, 36 eco-responsible orchards will welcome young and old for a fun and educational day around the favorite fruit of the French people. As in previous editions, no less than 10,000 visitors are expected.
The committed apple growers are giving the French people a chance to discover the behind-the-scenes of eco-responsible apple production over five weekends: August 27-28, September 3, September 10-11, September 24-25, and October 1.
The program includes activities for the whole family to learn about the profession and the industry while having fun, such as visits to orchards, apple-related activities, free picking or buying apples, tastings, workshops for the very young, and discussions with apple growers.
Vergers écoresponsables: A French label recognized for dedicated orchardists
For more than 10 years, the Vergers écoresponsables label has been recognizing the commitment of men and women to advanced production methods that respect the environment and biodiversity. Attentive to their orchards, they favor new arboricultural practices based on observation and adaptation. Today, the Eco-responsible Orchards label represents 70% of French apple production.
