According to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) processed by Hortoinfo, Italy's tomato production achieved a value that was three times higher than Spanish production. The value of Turkish production was twice as big as Spanish production.
According to the figures for the calendar year 2019 (January-December) –the latest data published by the FAO–, Italian tomato producers were paid 4,850.18 million euro for their production; Turkish producers were paid 3,179.33 million euro, and Spanish producers 1,593 million euro.
The Dutch tomato production amounted to 651.32 million euro, the Greek production amounted to 585.06 million, the French production to 528.59 million euro, and the Polish production to 414.39 million euro. Romania achieved a value of 383.32 million euro, Morocco 290.9 million, and Israeli tomato producers charged 275.61 million euro for their product. Finally, Belgian growers obtained € 199.62 million for their tomatoes.
