Uganda: Government declares an outbreak of sweet potato butterfly

The Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture has declared an outbreak of sweet potato butterfly in the Busoga, Bugisu and Bukedi sub regions in Eastern Uganda. Agricultural experts say the swarm of the caterpillars could result into significant losses of up to 80 percent posing a serious threat to food security in the region.
