Auchan Retail Spain, which has 369 stores counting hypermarkets, supermarkets and proximity formats, has taken another step in the development of its Alcampo Controlled Production brand, developing for the first time a seasonal local assortment with tropical fruits exclusively from the Canary Islands.
This tropical assortment, consisting of avocados, mangoes, parchita, tamarillo, papayas and red bananas, will be sold exclusively on the shelves of the 3 Alcampo hypermarkets of the islands. With this, the company continues to promote the development of Canary suppliers, to whom it annually purchases goods worth 58 million Euro.
The materials used for the packaging of these products are cardboard from sustainable forests and compostable flowpacks.
Alcampo Controlled Production features fresh products developed from the outset with the producers and seeks to bring traditional flavors and aromas back. Other factors are also taken into account, such as the type of production, animal welfare, seasonality, sustainability, the reduction in the use of pesticides, etc. In total, more than 140 Alcampo Controlled Production products are available on the shelves.
