Omer-Decugis et Fils is entering a new phase of development and engaging two structural reforms:
- a name change for the group holding to Omer-Decugis Group
- the creation of the OD Resources division to lead the know-how of ripening and packaging in France
Omer-Decugis et Fils, the parent firm of the eponymous Group announced its name change to Omer-Decugis Group as of June 2019. Omer-Decugis et Fils, founded in 1850 by Omer-Decugis and currently directed by Louis Omer-Decugis and Vincent Omer-Decugis (5th and 6th generation at the head of the family business, respectively), has now become an international group composed of three branches in France (SIIM, Bratigny and OD Resources), as well as some holdings in the Terrasol and Agroeden production units in Latin America, Myner Exports LTD, Sodipex, Vergers du Nord and AOM in Africa.
The name change, which takes place a few months before the installation of the new industrial platform of 129,167 square feet at the heart of the MIN of Rungis, comes to support the structuring of the Group around the complementary business branches dedicated to independent activities. “We hope that this new Group identity will bring together, beyond past generations, all our collaborators who contribute to our growth daily, in France and everywhere in the world where we are present,” explains Vincent Omer-Decugis, Chairman of the Executive Board.
It is in this structuring context that the Group just announced the creation of its OD Resources branch, a new entity dedicated to ripening and packaging activities, which have been developing strongly for several years.
“With this dedicated entity, the Group creates a true center of excellence around its key points of expertise. The creation of OD Resources should enable us to offer a large range of services and to tackle new segments of the market,” explains Eric Sillari, director of operations.
This branch will strengthen a specific know-how developed since the Group’s beginnings around the banana, and extend it to the meticulous refining of mangoes and tropical fruits. Launched in the summer of 2019, the new structure will be in charge of leading the know-how of the Group in terms of ripening, storage and packaging.
