The company Vegetales Línea Verde has built new facilities in Jimenado, in the municipality of Torre-Pacheco, Murcia, dedicated to the production of ready-to-eat fresh products. These will be processed and packaged with the latest technology in a 3,500 square meter warehouse.
This new plant's location has been chosen because of the region's temperate climate, which makes it possible to produce large volumes of fruits and vegetables all year round. Thus, the raw materials used at the facilities are grown close by, which guarantees the products' freshness, making it also easier to increase its industrial capacity. Moreover, Vegetales Línea Verde already has all the necessary quality certifications, including those of the business group, as well as the external ones.
"The opening of this new plant in Murcia is an important milestone in the strategy of Vegetales Línea Verde, because it is a key agricultural area when it comes to the production of ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables," says the commercial and marketing director of the company, Raúl Medina.
This new plant will make it easier to meet the demand for ready-to-eat products both in Spain and in the Western European markets in which it operates. Currently, the firm is present in 25 countries and has plants in Serbia, Italy and Spain. It has industrial capacity in all the categories in which it operates (fresh cut and prepared dishes) and has become an integral supplier of fresh and healthy ready-to-eat products.
The management of the plant will fall on the hands of a team of professionals from Cota 120, a cooperative that is part of Única Fresh, working under the direction oof Grupo Línea Verde. Furthermore, Cota 120 has hired and trained staff in the region of Murcia for the production of ready-to-eat products.
