Ivorian mangoes for France and Belgium

Namongo Seydou Coulibaly, of the Inter Negoce company and SARL Services, exports Ivorian mangoes to France and Belgium. “With more than 30,000 tons, the mango is now Ivory Coast’s 2nd export fruit, behind the banana,” explains Namongo. “Most of the Ivorian orchards are owned by small farmers or family farms.”

The mangoes that Namongo offers are produced in the northern regions of Ivory Coast, in the savannah. Flowering starts in December and the fruits become ripe in April, when the campaign begins.

Namongo adds: “the harvests for the mangoes destined to exportation are carried out by well-trained technicians. The mango is then brought to the packaging plants where it is washed, sorted and put into boxes, in compliance with the specific requests of the customers, and then shipped by air or by boat in refrigerated containers.”

“Before shipping, the mangoes are carefully inspected by phytosanitary inspectors who keep a close watch on the packaging process and issue a phytosanitary certificate to attest that the product meets the sanitary standards. Packaging stations are certified Global Gap, ecocert and more.”
