Peru: Hamburg Süd resumes its weekly direct service between Paita and Philadelphia

In view of the upcoming mango and grape season in South America, Hamburg Süd will resume its weekly direct service from the port of Paita, Peru, to Philadelphia, on the East Coast of the US. This service, which has an 11-day transit time, provides exporters and importers from Peru and the US a premium product that was designed taking into consideration the sensitivity of these types of loads.

"We had a successful launch last year, and now we've resumed our seasonal service for mangoes and grapes," stated Frank Smet, the commercial director of Hamburg Süd.

Hamburg Süd stated that they were offering a tailored made premium product, thanks to the rapid transit time and a fleet of latest generation reefer equipment, that will allow satisfying the strong demand for these fruits in the US market.

This service also offers connections to the US Gulf Coast and other ports along the East Coast of the USA, such as Houston, Port Everglades and New York, and to Europe through Hamburg Süd extensive network via the transshipment center in Cartagena in Colombia.
