Kazakhstan begins construction of a 70,000-ton fruit and vegetable processing plant in Almaty

Construction has begun on a modern deep-processing facility for fruits and vegetables in the Almaty region, a project aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's high–value food production and export capacity. The plant, developed by Qazaq Global Food JV, is designed to process up to 70,000 tonnes of raw material annually, including apples and a wide range of other fruit and vegetable crops.

A key milestone for the project was the signing of an off-take agreement with Göknur Gıda, one of Türkiye's largest processors of fruit and vegetable products. Under the partnership, Göknur Gıda will act as the strategic operator responsible for exporting the plant's output, including apple juice concentrate and other processed products, to international markets.

The total investment in the project amounts to 9.5 billion tenge.

The deal provides long-term market guarantees and expands access for Kazakh producers to global buyers, contributing to the country's goal of increasing the share of value-added agricultural exports.

The new facility will be equipped with modern processing technologies, enabling the production of competitive, export-oriented goods and supporting the development of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial sector.
