In 2024, Armenia exported 144,540 tonnes of fresh fruits and vegetables, marking an 8.4% increase compared to 2023. The data was presented by Deputy Economy Minister Arman Khojoyan, who oversees the agriculture sector, during a Q&A session in the Armenian Parliament. The figures were reported by the official parliamentary press service.
When asked about issues in the potato sector, particularly complaints from growers in the Gegharkunik region about unsold crops, Khojoyan said that total potato production in 2024 reached 337,000 tonnes. Of that amount, 14,000 tonnes were exported, a significant increase from just 1,300 tonnes in 2023. As of the current period in 2025, exports have already reached 4,000 tonnes.
Commenting on the overall agri-food export performance, the deputy minister noted growth across nearly all product categories, except dried fruits. According to him, the gross export growth of the agricultural sector amounted to 14%.
While dried fruit exports declined by 27% in volume, the value of these exports rose by 60%. Khojoyan said this indicates a shift toward premium-quality dried fruit exports.
