Tomato exports rise nearly 5% in early 2025, reaching $74.7 million

Azerbaijan boosts fruit and vegetable trade in early 2025

According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan significantly increased its trade in fruits and vegetables during the first four months of 2025. Imports and exports both saw notable year-on-year growth.

Import growth
From January to April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 198,838 tonnes of fruits and vegetables worth $142.72 million, marking an increase of 10,000 tonnes (5.2%) and $16.23 million (12.8%) compared to the same period in 2024.

Export performance
Exports also showed a strong performance. Azerbaijan exported 175,663 tonnes of fruits and vegetables, generating $207.07 million in revenue. This represents a year-on-year increase of 26,126 tonnes (17.4%) and $26.77 million (14.8%).

Tomatoes remained Azerbaijan's leading export product in the fruit and vegetable category. Tomato exports brought in $74.7 million from January to April 2025, a $3.5 million (4.9%) increase over the same period last year.

In April alone, Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $30.2 million, reflecting a 15.7% rise compared to April 2024.
