This week is the week before the Dragon Boat Festival, and the weekend coincides with Father's Day. So far, there is no obvious holiday-boosting effect in the fruit wholesale market. Some merchants said that the Dragon Boat Festival and Father's Day may have a certain stimulating effect on some secondary wholesale markets, intermediate traders and distributors, but it is not obvious to the primary wholesale market.

Among the imported fruits, avocados are the ones with the biggest difference in sales and prices compared to the past. Currently, avocados are mainly imported from Peru and Kenya. It is understood that a box of 22 Peruvian avocados is currently priced at about ¥60/piece, while the supply of the same quality in the same period last year was at least ¥90-¥100/piece. The price of high-quality products is relatively stable, while the price of inferior-quality goods varies. The reason is that some merchants have said that the arrival of avocados in the past month has increased significantly compared with the past, and the quality is not as good as last year, so the market is sluggish. In early May, the arrival and price were still normal. From the middle of May, the arrival volume increased greatly, and there were more fruits with black threads than before, which greatly reduced the price. The current arrival volume is still relatively large.

American cherries are still mainly produced in California. In terms of sales, some merchants said that the "Black Pearl" variety is popular because of its sweet taste and the price is relatively stable. The sales are sometimes a little slow, but overall it is not bad. For another variety with a sourer taste, the price has been lowered to around ¥100 from more than ¥500 when it was first launched, and the sales are still not satisfactory. It is reported that the cherries produced in Washington will start to hit the market over the weekend or next week.
Left: American Cherry "Black Pearl"; Right: Monthong Durian
In terms of durians, there has been little change in the past two weeks. The price is cheaper than before, and the sales are a little slower. The price of Musang King in Malaysia varies according to different brands, most of which are ¥1100-¥1300/piece. Merchants said that there will be more fruits in July, and the price should increase by then. Thailand's Monthong durian still comes from the eastern production area, and some merchants said that the recent arrival is less, so it is more popular. The Vietnamese Kanyao durian is at the end of the production season, and the price of the high-quality ones is ¥250/piece, which is slightly higher than last week. The arrival of Vietnamese Monthong durians has increased recently, and the asking price is slightly lower than last week. The price of A6 fruit is about ¥660/piece.
Left: Watermelon; Right: Dali Jujube
In terms of domestic fruits, Dali Jujube first launched two to three weeks ago, and the current volume is gradually increasing. The same supply has been reduced from ¥190/piece (3kg) when it was first launched to about ¥160/piece at present. The price is basically the same as in previous years. A large number of watermelons are now on the market. Merchants selling high-quality watermelons said that the price was higher when the high temperature continued in the first two or three weeks. 11kg pack was sold for ¥120/piece. Afterward, a large number of watermelons came into the market and rainy days were frequent, and the current price of the same supply has been lowered to ¥60/piece. The price of domestic yellow pitayas has generally been lowered with the increase in planting scale, number of brands and arrival volume. At present, it is mostly ¥130-150/piece, while the same period last year and a few months ago this year was about ¥220-¥240/piece. The drop was close to 40%.
