According to the customs branch of Quang Ninh Province, after several days of suspension of imports due to the detection of the COVID-19 virus on the boxes of Vietnamese pitayas shipped to China, the export activities of Vietnamese pitayas to China could resume, as of from 23:00 on September 22.
At present, various functional departments in Vietnam are going through relevant procedures to provide assistance for the smooth customs clearance of vehicles carrying agricultural products sold to China, and to facilitate customs clearance, including 29 pitaya containers.
Regarding the news that the COVID-19 virus was detected on the packaging boxes of Vietnamese pitayas shipped to China, the functional departments of the Mong Cai International Port Management Committee were tracking the trajectory of transportation drivers, cargo handlers, and other related objects and conducting a 14-day quarantine observation. So far, people who have been with the pitaya containers shipped to China have tested negative for the COVID-19 virus.
Vietnam pitaya has entered many markets, including China, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries. Of those, China is the largest export market of Vietnamese pitayas, and its export volume to China accounts for 80% of the total export volume.
