Leroy Merlin has landed in the food segment. The operator specialized in DIY has started a collaboration with the Polish retailer Zabka to include small grocery stores (Zabka Nano) inside their establishments.
Zabka Nano is a self-service modular installation that can be placed anywhere, even in other stores, as demonstrated by its previous installation in Decathlon and Zdrofit gym chain outlets in Poland.
"The alliance with Zabka will increase the convenience of shopping, customer satisfaction, and their willingness to visit our stores," stated Anna Paszt, the Marketing Director of Leroy Merlin Poland. "This is not a simple test, but the beginning of a long-term cooperation,” she added.
The Zabka Nano assortment at Leroy Merlin includes approximately 400 references of ready meals, sandwiches, snacks, juices, and coffee products from the retailer's own brands.
The store will follow a cashless model format, with its own card that, in addition to granting access to the store, will allow charging purchases to it through a camera system that recognizes the products and quantities removed from the shelves.
