"Mango prices at the right level"

There is a positive atmosphere on the mango market at the moment. According to Sjoerd Meijer of Fruitmarket, the situation in recent weeks was relatively okay among most traders. "The prices were varied, there was sometimes up to a three Euro difference between Senegal and Brazil. The prices were on the low side for mangos from Senegal. Israel and Brazil were far above this."

Right level

At the moment the prices are at the right level according to the trader. "We now have the Brazilian Palmer, Kent from Israel and soon the Osteen from Spain again. The prices are between 7 and 7.5 Euro for Brazil and Israel. It is always best for the market if the price is around this rate."

He expects little to change in the market situation over the coming weeks. "At the moment there are no shortages or oversupplies of mangos. The demand is increasing. I think the coming weeks will remain relatively stable."
