Recently, the Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau at the Fuzhou Airport Port Inspection intercepted a batch of sweet potato sprouts. It appears that they are showing symptoms of a virus. For example, their leaves and veins have turned yellow. The laboratory of the Bureau and the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine have confirmed that this batch of sweet potato sprouts has the G virus. This is the first time that this virus has been discovered in China. The Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has carried out the destruction of these sprouts.
