Looking for new opportunities in the New Zealand market

Tainan City Government actively promotes pineapple exports

Taiwan and New Zealand have entered into an agreement on April 9, facilitating the exportation of Taiwanese pineapples into New Zealand. This development is anticipated to open new avenues for the pineapples of Tainan in the international arena. The Tainan City Government, recognizing the potential for global market expansion, has been active in promoting Tainan's agricultural produce through participation in international trade events. Mayor Huang Wei-che of Tainan has been instrumental in these efforts, securing significant orders for Tainan pineapples in markets such as Japan and Singapore during his visit to the Foodex Tokyo International Food Exhibition.

With Tainan being a primary pineapple producing region in Taiwan, the city government has been proactive in leveraging post-pandemic international exhibitions to enhance the visibility and acceptance of its produce globally. Efforts by the Tainan City Government have led to a projected increase in pineapple exports, surpassing 3,500 tons for the current year. The city has targeted markets in Japan, Singapore, Canada, and now New Zealand, demonstrating a strategic approach to expanding the international footprint of Tainan's agricultural products.
