Berries step into the spotlight

Berry Fresh's preparations for Vancouver have been underway for a couple of months now and it will be the first time the brand has a booth at CPMA 2024. The team is excited to connect with current and potential customers in this high-energy environment.

"Canadian berry consumers are important to us," says Jyoti Bhogal, VP of sales & marketing. "They're educated in the category and drive a lot of consumption in the North American market. This kind of event is exciting to be a part of because we get to visit with our current partners in the region while making new connections in the industry."

Jyoti Bhogal of Berry Fresh says Canadian consumers are educated in the berry category and drive a lot of consumption in the North American market.

To differentiate itself in the ever-growing berry category, Berry Fresh is focusing on genetics and customer service. With its investment in varieties such as Sweet Karoline® blackberries, it is looking to offer consumers an eating experience that will drive repeat consumption.

Berry Fresh is capitalizing on the growing trend of marketing by berry variety.

Through owned genetics and partnerships with breeders such as Fall Creek and OZblu, Berry Fresh is capitalizing on the growing trend of marketing by variety. Common in categories such as apples, more produce items are being sold by variety names to win over consumers. As relatively recent adopters of this strategy in the Americas, this strategy for berries has had proven success in many European countries like the U.K. Berry Fresh believes in this method of marketing and is building on its past success with Sweet Karoline with bigger growth and marketing this 2024 season.

As more people add berries to their weekly shopping list, Berry Fresh, which is exhibiting at booth #1722 at CPMA 2024, is focusing on the future of the category: better genetics, better customer service, and an accountable brand.
