Ukrainian entrepreneur cultivates giant mushrooms

Yuriy Dushenko from Donetsk is an example of unwavering determination and perseverance. After two unsuccessful attempts to rebuild his mushroom cultivation business, he did not give up in the face of obstacles.

Dushenko started his business in Donetsk, where his mushroom harvests were lost due to the war. He had to change regions and partners. An attempt to rebuild the business in Chernivtsi also failed. However, his interest and ability to grow large and tasty mushrooms remained unchanged.

He did not give up, and thanks to a grant from the Charitable Foundation "MHP - Community," he revived his business, taking it to a new level.

Yuriy grows large meaty mushrooms ranging from 12 to 18 cm. His mushrooms have 10% less moisture content, which improves the taste and shelf life. Thanks to this, Yuriy's mushrooms have found their place in the market, with regular orders from various stores and customers.

After receiving the grant in 2023, Yuriy got to work. Currently, he produces up to 1.5 tons of mushrooms in two months. There are plans to gradually increase production volumes and expand sales markets.

Yuriy's story is an example of how perseverance can bring success even in the toughest times.
