“We have just launched seedless Thomcord grapes under the Grape Jammers brand,” says Michael Reimer with Brandt Farms. Grape Jammers are a cross between a Thompson seedless and a Concord grape. “They provide the eating quality of a Thompson grape with a thin skin and without seeds. At the same time, they have the rich flavor of a Concord grape.”Available for three months
Brandt Farms started shipping the first Grape Jammers two weeks ago. They are already available in local stores in the Central Valley. “We should have pretty good national representation by the end of this week,” said Reimer. Harvest of the Thomcord grapes started mid-July and they will be shipped through October. “The window of availability is a good three months,” added Reimer.
Social media contest
Brandt Farms has launched a social media campaign and invites consumers to participate in a contest to name the Jammers. More information is available on a dedicated website www.grapejammers.com. The site also contains a ‘where to buy’ page that lists all the stores where the Grape Jammers are available.
Brandt Farms has been around since 1941 and is a third generation family operated business in California’s Central Valley. Stonefruit is the company’s biggest item and in addition, the company grows persimmons, kiwifruit, table grapes as well as some citrus fruit during winter time.
