Uzbekistan's fruit and vegetable exports to Russia see significant rise

In the initial quarter of the year, Uzbekistan's exports of fruit and vegetable products to Russia reached approximately 70 thousand tons, marking a substantial increase from the 39.5 thousand tons recorded in the corresponding period of 2023. Notably, white cabbage exports saw an elevenfold increase to 38 thousand tons, persimmons rose 6.2 times to 1.5 thousand tons, cauliflower exports tripled to 2.9 thousand tons, and carrot shipments grew 3.3 times to 4.9 thousand tons, as reported by Interfax.ru citing the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The previous year, Uzbekistan consistently exported high volumes of onions, nectarines, and peaches to Russia, while Russia exported feed and feed additives, along with poultry meat to Uzbekistan. The potential for enhancing bilateral trade and business relations was a key topic during a recent meeting between Sergey Dankvert, head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, and Davron Vakhobov, Chairman of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
