Spain: PortCastelló promoting services at Fruit Logistica 2012 in Berlin

PortCastelló continues with plans to promote their services and facilities, and participation in fairs. February is particularly important in this regard, since the Castellón Port authoroties participate in Cevisama´s fair. This fair is held in Valencia from the 7th to the 10th of February, PortCastelló will have its own stand. 

In addition, Berlin host Fruit Logistica from the 8th to the 10th of February, one of the biggest events of the horticultural
sector at an international level. In the German city, the port will promote its services through PortCastelló Foundation .

Citrus Exports

Over 2011 a total of 68,224 tons of citrus, have been moved through the port of Castellón, 17.7% more than in the previous year. This consolidates Castellón as the first Spanish port for this type of traffic. Clementines and oranges are primary goods in this traffic, destined for the United States and Russia.
"The citrus export season will last about six months - said the director general of Castellón´s Port Authority Roberto Arzo -. In summer, the business focuses on import and in fall, exports." The Ukraine, Turkey, Russia, Italy, Algeria and the United States are the countries leading the ranking of origin / destination of this traffic.
