Italy: Schiavone Group at Fruit Logistica 2012
For the sixth year in a row, Italian Schiavone Group will take part as exhibitor in Fruit Logistica (Berlin, February 8th-10th 2012).
Schiavone Group was formed in 1956 as a producer of table grapes and citrus and consolidated in the following years in other horticultural references, leading to a range of over 60 articles in its list of production.
Company policy brought Schiavone Group to be specialized almost exclusively in intermediate activity in order to export toward Scandinavian countries, in the first place and to the countries of Eastern Europe and the Baltic, in second place, going to Russia and creating partnerships with many local commercial realities, including supermarkets and importers.
The marketing of products is almost exclusively under its own brand: "Gaia".
Schiavone Group commercializes about 5,000 tons of table grapes, of which 2,000 tons of 'Italia' grapes and 1,500 tons of Red Globe and Palieri. As for citrus the output amounts 1,500 tons of Navel oranges and 2,300 tons of clementines, thanks to the collaboration of 80 producing farms situated in different areas in southern Italy and associated with the Group.
Product is to be found in supermarket chains all around Europe.
Schiavone Group produces also the following products: dill, smooth parsley, curly parsley, romaine lettuce, fennel, watermelons, seedless watermelons, apricots, peaches, nectarines, carrots, spinach, cauliflowers and broccoli. The Group owns UNI EN ISO 9001 and GlobalGAP certifications for its products and is looking for business partners in Germany, Norway, France, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.
