Morocco/Spain: Increase in the number of Moroccan seasonal workers in Andalusia

Each year, thousands of Moroccan farm workers travel to Spanish strawberry fields for the agricultural season. This year, there were about 20 000, twice as many as in the previous year. The Moroccan Ministry of Labor Mohamed Yatim claims that an extra 9,000 more Moroccan seasonal workers than in 2008 should be expected. In 2008 they were 11,000.

This increase in the number of seasonal workers comes despite many problems of sexual harassment they encountered last year.
