Raynbow and Bellavista: Raytec Vision technology for potatoes and baby-leaf

With more than 15 years of experience in different segments of the food market and more than 1,300 machines installed around the world, Raytec Vision is a leading company in the field of optical sorting technology and X-ray inspection. Thanks to a constant research activity, a wide range of innovative machines has been created to ensure the quality and safety of food, including optical sorters for raw materials and processed products and X-ray inspection machines for packaged and bulk products.

Thanks to its consolidated experience, Raytec offers customized solutions to meet the specific needs of its clients, with whom it builds unique and long-lasting partnerships.

At Fruit Attraction, Raytec presented Raynbow, an optical sensor sorter intended for the selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, which is now even more efficient thanks to the new UNYCO software, especially for the detection of defects and contaminants in unwashed potatoes.

Marcos Pincu (pictured above), sales area manager of Raytec Vision - Raynbow, told FreshPlaza that "thanks to an on the fly double vision system, 100% of the surface of each product is analyzed, which guarantees an efficient elimination of color defects, rotten products and foreign bodies, even if the color matches that of a good product. It is also possible to use a two tier rejection system which differentiates unusable goods from those considered second quality products."

The Raytec stand also served to showcase Bellavista, an exclusive machine designed and manufactured by Gemini in partnership with Raytec Vision. Bellavista is the first baby-leaf harvester in the world with an on-board optical sorting system capable of eliminating the most dangerous foreign bodies directly in the field. Thanks to a vision system equipped with NIR (Near InfraRed) technology and chlorophyll analysis, it is possible to identify all defects with a size greater than 10 mm, thus eliminating 95% of all contaminants directly in the field."

"Bellavista is not only a synonym of quality, efficiency and safety, it also stands out for its special attention to comfort. The operator is comfortably seated (see photo above) and has a large color touch screen to easily interact with all the functions of the equipment."
