UNIVEG Group announces the appointment of Manfred Pülm as new Sustainability Coordinator

UNIVEG is pleased to announce the appointment of Manfred Pülm as new Sustainability Coordinator for the UNIVEG Group.

Manfred joins the UNIVEG Group from the German organic specialist Lehmann Natur GmbH, where he served for 5 years as the head of Quality Management. He will be based in Bremen as part of UNIVEG’s Group Quality Management Unit.
In his new position as Sustainability Coordinator for UNIVEG, Manfred will be responsible for improving the sustainability of the company's fruit and vegetable business and for the further development of UNIVEG's organic quality management systems. This task will involve working closely with UNIVEG's key customers and producers in order to implement projects which improve
the social and environmental balance of the Group’s fruit and vegetable supply chains.

Manfred will also be responsible for developing systems to monitor and measure sustainability within UNIVEG’s fruit and vegetables operations.

"Sustainability is a complex and challenging issue, but small changes can have a huge impact in a volume driven business," says Ben Horsbrugh, Director of Quality Management. "There is significant potential to improve the sustainability of fruit and vegetable supply chains, and we are very confident that Manfred's expertise and leadership will enable UNIVEG to identify opportunities, set
standards and implement meaningful changes which will benefit all of our stakeholders - both now and in the future."
