India Global conference on augumenting production and Uitilization of mango

Mango, the most important fruit crop referred as 'King of fruits', presents both rich genetic diversity as well as choice of varieties and  is closely associated with rich cultural and traditional heritage in India. There is growing appreciation for the fruit across the globe due to its medicinal and nutraceutical properties since  pulp is high in prebiotic dietary fiber, vitamin-A, polyphenols, carotenoids,  vitamin-C and vitamin-E. Fruits contain certain phenolic compounds with powerful antioxidant and anticancer properties. Lupeol, a compound found in mango is highly potent in preventing cardiovascular diseases, certain types of cancers and even ageing. Being a perennial crop, mango provides plenty of opportunities and has many challenges of production, post harvest management and utilization of waste. With changing climate, many new biotic and abiotic stresses are emerging specially, the influence of temperature on fruit set and maturity. At the same time, many new scientific innovations and techniques have also been developed leading to better understanding of genes, genomics, physiology, etc., which require to be harmonized in order to improve mango production. Thus, it has become inevitable to examine new challenges and developments in the context of global perspectives taking into account the prevailing and emerging scenario of sustainability, environmental safety and ecosystem services. Therefore, this global conference proposes to provide interactive platform for deliberation on the issues confronting global mango industry for developing a road map for sustainable production and utilization of mango.

The global conference will also have 4 workshops on topical issues and exhibition to showcase technological innovations and inputs. We have the pleasure in requesting all the stakeholders for effective participation.
