Proto says their Crimson grapes are looking great this season

Greek Crimson Seedless grape harvest starts in a few days

The harvest of Crimson Seedless grapes from Greece is starting in a few days. Although parts of the country have been pestered with heavy rainfall, the Crimson Seedless variety of Proto has been doing very well.

“The harvest starts in a couple of days and will continue until the beginning of October, with the season estimated to last until the beginning of November. The quality is great, the grapes are looking good in size and colour,” George Kallitsis of Proto explains. “It’s looking like a great season, our company is actually doubling the produce we had last year. We produced about 500 tonnes of Crimson Seedless grapes last year and aim to produce about 1000 tonnes this season. The crops are better this season and we have a larger area to cultivate.”

The grapes produced by Proto will mainly be sent to other parts of Europe: "The grapes will be transported to countries including, but not limited to the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and a smaller portion to Scandinavia." Kallitsis concluded.
