China: High temperatures in Hunan raise vegetable prices

The vegetable supply volume in Hunan slightly decreased in recent days as a result of continuing high temperatures. The vegetable prices mostly increased and rarely dropped. The wholesale price of vegetables was relatively low in early July because the supply volume was large, but this situation changed in early August as temperatures increased. The hot weather makes it more difficult to grow vegetables or to store them. The price therefore slightly increased.
