Swedish grower focuses on new crops

The Swedish farmer, Mattias Hansson, was born and bred on the beautiful Bjäre peninsula in Sweden. After finishing his schooling, he took the logical step of carrying on his parents' business in the Förslöv region. There, Hansson now cultivates pumpkin, kale, and early potatoes.

Recently he also started growing flower sprouts. This plant is a kind of hybrid between kale and a Brussel sprout. Hansson finds it interesting to discover new crops like flower sprouts. He certainly sees a future for the new plant. He started experimenting this last at the request of the producer organisation, Grönsaksmästarna.
