CNC Exotic Mushrooms and Exovative to collaborate

CNC Exotic Mushrooms is becoming a partner of the US (NY) located Ecovative Design to exclusively produce and distribute the Ecovative patented mycelium materials in Europe. This development supports the growing ecosystem of Mycelium products throughout the EU. Mycelium is the network of threads from which fungi grow.

Ecovative uses its mycelium organic production platform to grow award winning environmentally friendly materials. These are then used in a huge variety of products - from compostable packaging to materials for furniture, acoustic wall plates and isolation materials and for the recovery of swamps and landscapes. The strategic relationship with CNC, which produces and distributes substrates that are used by professional growers of edible, exotic mushrooms, makes it possible for Ecovative to serve companies in the EU that want to create new and better products with mycelium.

Eben Bayer, CEO of Ecovative notes: "Ecovative is delighted to enter into a strategic relationship with CNC as our exclusive mycelium material supplier in Europe. CNC brings their huge expertise in the growing of mycelium as well as an established distribution network. Our goal in setting up a production facility within Europe of mycelium based products is supporting and taking care of the growing ecosystem of mycelium based products for European customers. By working together with CNC we are able to safeguard a safe and certified source of mycelium material."

Bert Rademakers, CEO of CNC Exotic Mushrooms: "We are specialised in exotic mushrooms. To be able to product mycelium materials as an alternative to plastics is an interesting opportunity to allow this business to grow further responsibly. It also contributes to a world with environmentally friendly materials. Ecovative can build on our expertise of multiple decades. Our production facilities are very suited to production with the Ecovative method."
