Mart Valstar, Best Fresh Group

"Brexit is definitely going to change something"

"We have been exporting to England for more than 80 years. It would be very strange if a kink in the cable were to appear now", says Mart Valstar in reaction to Brexit. He is from the Dutch greenhouse specialist company of the same name. Valstar sells in the region of EUR300 million's worth of produce per year. Approximately 20% of this is to the United Kingdom. At the moment, Valstar's trucks take the tunnel to the UK and do not require any paperwork. "Brexit may bring about a waiting period and documents that need to be completed. This will makes things flow less smoothly. We have a feeling this will more than likely not happen with Brexit. Something is certainly going to happen, so we are preparing ourselves."
