Summer driving ban scheme 2018

Various countries will implement a summer driving ban in the months of July and August. Lorry traffic will be limited during this time to unburden holiday traffic in the countries involved. This ban will be implemented in addition to regular driving bans.

For the summer months of July and August, an additional driving ban will be enforced on Saturdays, and in some countries on Fridays preceding the regular weekend driving ban. The maximum allowed mass of vehicles that fall under this driving ban scheme varies per country.

The following countries implement a similar summer driving ban:
  • Germany
  • France
  • Austria
  • Poland
  • Italy
  • Slovakia
  • The Czech Republic
For vehicles affected by this and any exceptions, please see the country information on this website (link to Dutch website).
