Bejo Open days from 25 to 29 September

Purple Power concept and new uses for Brussels sprouts

The Bejo Open Days are taking place from Tuesday, 25 to Saturday, 29 September 2018. Here this Dutch breeding company will present its various new species. They have improved outer appearances and disease resistance. They've also enhanced storage quality and taste. These new varieties will be seen for the first time in the demonstration fields. They include species such as B-Mox and Bejo's organic lettuce assortment. During the open days, Bejo will also share their research and development results. There will be various activities and attractions. These include tours, the foil greenhouse, the Brussels sprout symposium, and different concepts.

De Open Days run from 09:00 to 17:00 (Saturday until 16:00). They will be held at 1 Trambaan in Warmenhuizen.

In the innovative foil greenhouse, Bejo will display a wide range of products. These include tomatoes, bell peppers, and gherkins. Beekeepers will show the importance of bees. They will also highlight Bejo's activities in the area of bee breeding and health.

Bejo has a few well-known concepts. These include their cabbage concept, Coolwrap and the Cool carrot candy carrots. Bejo will also present new applications for kohlrabi and Brussels sprouts. A new idea this year is that of Purple Power. Purple fruit and vegetable varieties are not only known for their beautiful colour. Their high levels of vitamins and antioxidants also contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

On Tuesday, 25 September, Bejo will hold the "Taste, Health & Innovation 2018 - Brussels Sprout symposium". Its goal is to inspire and inform Brussels sprouts growers from all over the world. On Thursday, 27 September, Bejo is organising the "All about young plants symposium". This is specifically aimed at international plant growers.

Participation in both symposia is by invitation only.
