Continuous rain hastens the end of Ningbo bayberries on the market

China: Ningbo late-season bayberries have one week left

The bayberry season only lasts a month and the major production areas in Yuyao, Cixi, and Ninghai suffered from continuous rain which badly affected production volumes. Bayberries are expected to withdraw from the market around June 20th and, although they developed well this year, the conditions have had a serious impact on quality and flavor.

Biqi bayberries have withdrawn from the market, but there are still several harvest days left for bayberries in Xianyang, Yinzhou, and Liyang, Ninghai. Dongkui and Tan bayberries from Huchen in Ninghai have already entered the market and they have one more week left. Huchen is the largest producer of top-quality bayberries. The plantations cover more than 667 hectares and produce more than 10 varieties of the Dongkui bayberry.
