Overdue accounts or accounts about to expire- Webinar AMHPAC

Problems with debt collection when working in the United States

The lack of understanding of contracts, or just not reading the fine print, can lead to one of the most common problems that exporters face: problems with the collection of debts that are already due. As a result, companies resort to lawyers or specialized agencies that can help them collect debts and that can also help them to obtain credits or a history of transactions, avoiding lawsuits for breach of contract and liability due to ignorance of the law.

When it comes to hiring a specialized company, the most important thing is to verify that they are a serious and solvent company, but it is also important to know your needs and timetables.

This type of specialized agencies allow companies to have accurate information and a more effective representation, as they know the rules and processes that companies, who don't normally operate in the US, don't know and that are necessary for the negotiation with the United States. This will lead to a greater communication and planning.

Of course, having one of these agencies may have some disadvantages, as they can lead to a very fast growth, the hiring of more staff, and conducting business in dollars; but it's clear that this will lead to higher profits, which is what all companies seek.

Given this, there are some options to improve a company's commercial strategy abroad, such as the establishment of a representation in the country where the sales are made, which will give the company a greater presence and control there; the registration of a branch of the same company or the establishment of a completely new one in American territory; the establishment of an administrative, legal, and sales team for greater efficiency and control in orders and collections; and the possibility of acquiring a work or investor visa for owners and for managers or executives who can develop the company in the United States.
