Pomegranate teas target millennial consumer

Since 2006, the Wonderful Company has been offering teas. The product was relaunched in the Fall of 2014 with the company’s current line of POM Antioxidant Super Teas. They are available in Pomegranate Peach Passion White Tea, Pomegranate Sweet Tea, Pomegranate Honey Green Tea and Pomegranate Lemonade Tea. “All teas include pomegranates as the basic ingredient and are blended with just the right amount of 100 percent pomegranate juice and gently brewed teas to preserve the pomegranate antioxidants,” says Adam Cooper, Vice President of Marketing for the Wonderful Company. “It’s a refrigerated Antioxidant Super Tea option.”

Millennials seeking antioxidants
“For our teas, we are targeting millennial consumers as we have seen that our loyal POM Tea consumer is 80 percent female and skews younger than our typical POM 100% Pomegranate Juice consumer,” shared Cooper. “In addition, from our research we’ve found that 66 percent of millennials are seeking antioxidants on the shelf.” 

The Wonderful Company has launched a digital campaign to promote the brand’s line of Antioxidant Super Teas: Some Things Are Better Together. The digital campaign, designed to appeal to a millennial audience, is inspired by fun internet memes of animals in unlikely situations and ultimately showcases that some things are better when they’re put together, like a cat on a Roomba, or a pug in a stroller, just like tea and POM Wonderful. “Through this campaign, we aim to reach this millennial audience that is searching for a refreshing summer beverage in a fun and authentic way that resonates with them.”

POM Teas are available in the produce section of mass and grocery stores nationwide and can be found alongside POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice on the shelves.
